UT Southwestern Psychotherapy Clinic
An integral part of the Clincal Psychology graduate program and the Psychiatry Residency program at UTSW, therapists-in-training provide individual and group psychotherapy services to adults under the guidance of licensed medical professionals. Evaluation for medications/medication management, psychological evaluations, neuropsychological evaluations are provided by psychology students and interns through the clinic. The clinic provides a low-cost option for those whom insurance or private practice costs are barriers to receiving psychological services. There is a flat rate of $20/hour treatment sessions and $30/hour for evaluations.

SMU Center for Family Counseling
The Simmons School offers the Center for Family Counseling which offers therapeutic services for individuals, children, and families on a sliding fee scale. Its mission is “to deliver developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive counseling services for families, couples, adults, adolescents, and children undergoing varying life circumstances.” Individual and group counseling services are provided by graduate counseling students in SMU’s Master of Science in Counseling Program, which prepares individuals for professional practice as counselors. Experienced doctoral and master’s-level licensed faculty and staff members direct the Center and supervise the graduate counseling students. The clinic does not provide routine crisis counseling. Should a mental health emergency ensue, please contact 9-1-1 or go to the nearest hospital for assistance.
The clinic provides low cost counseling services, with fees as low as zero, to ensure that services are affordable to all regardless of circumstances.

The Center Counseling
With a team of more than 35 licensed professional counselors and psychologists, this Christian based providing care to college, young adults, adults and couples. Her areas of focus include codependency, faith and spirituality, identity and self-image, relationship issues, trauma, women’s issues. They also offer an adjusted fee scale for those without insurance.This is a Christian counseling service that was founded in 1968, formerly named Pastoral Counseling and Education Center, by the Greater Dallas Council of Churches.

With its foundation deeply rooted in Christian principles, the purpose of ChristianWorks for Children is to help children and their families meet and overcome even the most difficult challenges in their lives. They strive to facilitate the building of a healthy, loving family for every child. Under the umbrella of ChristianWorks, CounselingWorks services include individual, couple, marital, premarital, family counseling and play therapy for ages 3 and older. With locations in both Dallas & Ft. Worth, a large staff of licensed and provisionally licensed therapists under supervision provide counseling on an affordable sliding fee scale based on the client’s annual household income and ability to pay. Therapy services are available in both English and Spanish.

UNT Child & Family Resource Clinic
The Child and Family Resource Clinic is a counseling and training clinic that serves the Denton County community. The CFRC offers counseling to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families for issues including learning, emotional, and adjustment difficulties. The CFRC’s purpose is twofold: to provide professional and responsible services to clients who request them and professional, competent training for graduate students. Momentous Institute
Momentous Institute’s Therapeutic Services works side-by-side with families using a strengths-based approach to resolve conflict, process trauma and manage stress. Momentous Institute is entrusted with referrals from many community partners, including local schools, Children’s Medical Center, and Human Rights Initiative of North Texas, as they work together with children and families. Over 30 licensed therapists and trainees specialize in family therapy, play therapy, parent education and Huddle Up, a program aimed at empowering youth to improve self-regulation, problem solve and strengthen communications. In their therapeutic services, they identify and address concerns, establish long-term solutions and work alongside families to help strengthen their bonds and commitment.
Momentous Institute works with children and teens ages 0-15 and their families. There are no zip code restrictions, so families can live anywhere. They do not bill insurance but work from a sliding scale where clients help decide what they can afford to pay. An inability to pay does not prohibit a family from accessing services. Cook Children’s Pediatrics Lewisville – Castle Hills
Cook Children’s pediatricians in Lewisville/Castle Hills are here to help you with well-child visits, vaccines, illnesses, behavior problems, learning disorders or answer questions all parents have. SAMHSA is the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration It is a program under the U.S. Health & Human Services. SAMHSA’s Early Serious Mental Illness Treatment Locator. SAMHSA is a confidential and anonymous source of information for persons and their family members who are seeking treatment facilities in the United States or U.S. Territories for a recent onset of serious mental illnesses such as psychosis, schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder and other conditions. These evidence-based programs provide medication, therapy, family and peer support, assistance with education and employment and other services.
According to SAMHSA, individuals who experience a first onset of serious mental illness – which can include a first episode of psychosis – may experience symptoms that include problems in perception (such as seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting or feeling something that is not real), thinking (such as believing in something that is not real even when presented with facts), mood, and social functioning. There are effective treatments available and the earlier that an individual receives treatment, the greater likelihood that these treatments can lead to better outcomes and enable people to live full and productive lives with their family and friends.

Mental Health & Autism Insurance Project
Their mission is to assist people with autistic spectrum and mental health conditions obtain the health care services that they need in order to maximize their potential. They file appeals and grievances on behalf of individuals/families seeking mental health treatments and autism treatments on a sliding scale fee. MHAIP has had success in obtaining insurance coverage for medically necessary residential, partial hospital programs, and intensive outpatient treatments for adolescents and young adults with mental health conditions.
The group also will handle regulatory intervention and external reviews with state regulators. They does this by fielding questions from the public, offering seminars to the public, educating legislators and regulators on laws that will protect these populations, and providing direct services to assist families with obtaining single case agreements, writing appeals and requesting regulatory intervention. They also help providers and the facilities that serve them by offering pre and ongoing authorizations, appeal writing, billing (for facilities), collecting unpaid claims, and other services, as needed.
